Eichenau  Peppermint Museum

About the Peppermint Museum

Eichenau, a suburb west of Munich, was once well known as an area of arable land for growing pharmaceutical peppermint of the highest quality. This branch of industry has nearly died out in Eichenau, so the Peppermint Museum has made it to its business to provide information about the meaning of this medicinal herb for Eichenau, and about its cultivation, harvest and drying.

In addition to the peppermint exhibition there are changing special exhibitions about the history of Eichenau in general, for example about the auxiliary fire brigade or the schools in Eichenau.

Both exhibitions are complemented by two multimedia terminals with texts, films, pictures and a game that allows you to become "tea farmer" yourself for several minutes.
